The Curaçao Port Authority (CPA) is launching a new application for the cruise industry.

Designed to enable industry players to better plan their operations, the CPA Cruise application is primarily intended for service providers who cater to cruise passengers.

According to the CPA, the new application allows quick and timely access to useful information, with the latest data on the schedule of cruise ship arrivals and departures.

Users will have easy access to vessel details, in addition to the location of their berths, the port authority explained.

Integrated into the CPA’s maritime traffic management system, the application notifies all users as soon as a cruise ship arrives or departs.

The CPA Cruise app also allows users to choose to be notified of any last minute changes to the ports cruise schedule.

Along with its ship tracking features, the app can also be used by passengers and cruise goers to track cruise traffic in the Port of Curacao, CPA said.

The CPA Cruise application is already available for download on the IOS system and will also be available for Android users later this week.

One of the most popular cruise destinations in the Southern Caribbean, Curacao is a traditional port of call for several cruise lines.

During the 2022-2023 cruise season, brands such as Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, AIDA Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line are expected to make regular calls at the port of Willemstad on the island.

One of the highlights of the upcoming season is the Norwegian Prima. Scheduled to make two visits to Curaçao – October 20 and November 6 – Norwegian Cruise Line’s new ship entered service in September.
