The Ministry of Education (DepEd) recently launched a Covid-19 vaccination tracking app where its staff can log into their vaccination status.
The software application, which can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS users and via Google Play for Android users, will be able to collect and process data from DepEd personnel nationwide.
“We decided to create this platform to give our staff and teachers a simple, contactless way to reset their immunization status. We also want to maximize the use of technology to consolidate information from the vaccinated, ”said Education Secretary Leonor Briones.
The Under Secretary of Education in Administration, Alain Del Pascua, also noted that the data collected from the app would be vital for developing policies and addressing the challenges existing in the immunization program implemented by the national government.
Pascua has issued a memorandum that provides a user guide to orient staff through the step-by-step process of how to use the app, from registering to providing personal information. The app has a ‘Question Set’ allowing users to update their vaccination status in addition to other details related to Covid-19.
The summary of reports collected from the app can be viewed via https://mobileapp.deped.gov.ph/reports/dashboard.
As of July 23, more than 25,000 staff members had already reported their immunization status through the app.
As of July 8, DepEd announced that 299,021 of its 800,000 staff in 15 regions, or 37.91% of those eligible for vaccination, had been vaccinated against Covid-19, with both the first or the second dose.
With DepEd’s Vacc2School campaign, he continues to encourage his staff to register with their respective local government units to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Recently, around 800 staff from the DepEd central office and the 4B region regional office (Mimaropa) received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine with help from the Pasig city government.
