2018 semi-finalists England couldn’t have asked for a better draw. Gareth Southgate’s side take on the United States, Iran and Scotland, Wales and Ukraine in their tantalizing Group B clash.

Meanwhile, defending champions France will be optimistic when they face Denmark, Tunisia and one from Peru, Australia or the United Arab Emirates in their group.

The so-called “group of death” this time involves Spain, Germany, Japan and either Costa Rica or New Zealand. Another tasty encounter is Uruguay v Ghana in Group H – which will be the first meeting between the two since Luis Suarez notoriously played him handball in 2010.

The full World Cup draw is as follows:

  • Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands

  • Group B: England, Iran, USA, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine
