You can now store your EU Digital COVID Cert on your COVID-19 Tracker app, so here’s how you can do it easily.
The HSE and the Department of Health announced Thursday that the app will now have a section where people can store their tracking app.
Certificates are being issued to people across Ireland with the aim of facilitating the return of international travel within the EU from July 19 for those vaccinated and those who have recently recovered from COVID-19.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said the decision to store the certificate on the tracking app improves its functionality.
He said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us the best of our health service. The commitment to innovation and creative solutions demonstrated in a crisis has been beyond expectations.
“The COVID Tracker application is part of this spirit of innovation. It has been a great success since its launch last year, not only supporting the work of contact tracers to remove the virus in the community, but also providing accurate and timely information on COVID-19 directly into the hands of people. Irish.
“I am very proud of the work of the HSE and the Department of Health to improve the functionality of the app. As of today, users can now securely store their EU Covid digital certificate on the COVID Tracker app.
“This is a great development, and one that will support the continued reopening of our company.”
If you want to store your certificate on the tracking app, you can do so by downloading the latest app update and following the app’s instructions to scan the QR code on your certificate.
The HSE and the Department of Health said the certificate is only stored on your phone, is not shared with anyone, you can delete it at any time, and allows you to easily carry your certificate with you.
