If you’re using an iPhone, you can download the update to iOS 15.3 from January 28. The new version of the operating system weighs 1.45 GB as it provides solutions to security issues, bug fixes and others. I will briefly tell you how to get the update and what’s new inside.

  • iOS 15.3 is ready to download for your iPhone.
  • The software update has a massive size of 1.45 GB.
  • Apple fixed security vulnerabilities and minor bugs in the mobile operating system with this update.

Today you should have received a notification on your iPhone about an update. With iOS 15.3, you will receive important security patches and minor bug fixes for your iPhone. It is therefore strongly recommended that you download this update if you are using one of the many models that support iOS 15. Although this update does not bring any new features, the size of the update is 1, 45 GB. So it is better to download it via Wi-Fi connection.

Apple has patched what is probably the most significant security vulnerability in its browser engine, WebKit. Since Safari is not the only browser to use this engine, other browsers like Firefox and Chrome have also been affected in the past. While browsing, browsers unintentionally sent users’ browsing behavior and account credentials.

If you want to keep your iPhone secure, then this install is a must download! Apple was even in such a rush with the update that the iOS 15.3 beta was only released a few days ago. This is an unusually short period of time between beta and official release.

How to download the update

On January 28, the iOS 15.3 update should arrive as a notification on your iPhone. If you tap on it, you will be able to see a download button. If you don’t see a notification and want to manually check the download, this is also an alternative. To do this, go to your iPhone’s settings, then tap General and select “Software Update”.

On the iPhone 13 mini, Apple rolled back the update because I had less than 50% battery capacity left. So be careful of this or connect your iPhone to a charger while downloading to prevent this from happening to you!
