iOS 16 is the most recent update to the iPhone operating system. It includes many improvements and new features for users.
One of the coolest new features in iOS 16 is that users can now track steps, calories, and some physical activities just with an iPhone, without the need for an Apple Watch.
To encourage users to stay healthy, Apple has the “activity ring” in its Fitness app. This is a ring that will be “filled” as users reach their physical activity goals.
The new iOS 16 feature now lets you “fill” the activity ring without the need for an Apple Watch. But, it seems that it still doesn’t work as well as it should.
According to multiple reports, iOS 16 Fitness app “activity ring” is not updating or showing incorrect data on iPhones.
iOS 16 Fitness app activity ring not updating or showing incorrect data
It seems that the activity ring of the iOS 16 Fitness app is not filling up because iPhone users are doing physical activities. What disappoint those for whom the novelty is one of the most awaited.
Fitness app activity ring without Apple Watch
I used to have an Apple Watch but don’t have one anymore and wanted to track only my activity ringtone through my phone thanks to this addition in iOS 16. However, it just doesn’t work and the Fitness app keeps showing me three activity ringtones which doesn’t track anything.
iOS 16 fitness widget
Hey everyone, I recently installed iOS 16 on my 13 pro and was happy to see the fitness app and widget added. I was about to uninstall another app I used to track my steps, but the fitness app widget doesn’t seem to update at all.
Also, for other users, the activity ring in the iOS 16 Fitness app is capturing incorrect data. This negatively affects the general assessment they get of their physical condition.
Active calories not calculating correctly with the Move Ring?
So, I’ve had active calorie quirks since I got my new 14 Pro Max. I walk…a lot…and usually burn at least 1250 active calories every day while moving. However, since I got the new phone, I’m not close to touching it.
I walked 24,000 steps today and still haven’t reached 1,000 active calories burned – that would usually make me over 2,000 calories somewhere.
That said, the activity ring would work fine in the Apple Watch Fitness app.
No official recognition, potential workaround
There is still no official acknowledgment of the problem by Apple. However, there is a potential workaround that might help resolve this issue.
I deleted the app then restarted my iPhone and reinstalled.. Now it works fine.. You can try this.. Although I can’t change any lens
Unfortunately, users will still lose some functionality using the workaround. Apple will therefore have to send a final patch so that users can take full advantage of the possibilities of the Fitness application.
We will update this story once new related developments emerge in the future.
