FDA listing paves the way for Sleepiz to enter the US market and enables non-contact, in-home measurement of respiration and heart rate for remote patient monitoring and innovative medical study design
ZURICH, July 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SwissMedical technology company Sleepiz has registered its Sleepiz One+ non-contact breathing and heart rate measuring device with the FDA. After the company’s successful market launch in Europe and IndiaFDA listing clears way for Sleepiz to offer its remote patient monitoring and clinical trial solution in United States.
Sleepiz One+ is one of the first breathing monitoring devices to track and record contactless patient data during sleep. Sleepiz’s technology enables entirely new insights into patient health, as clinicians no longer have to rely on one-off measurements but have access to continuous data. This new depth of information makes it possible to detect changes in respiratory rate, which can be an early predictor of diseases like pneumonia and cardiac arrest, or indicate an exacerbation in patients with chronic lung disease.
The FDA listing allows Sleepiz partners to United States to use Sleepiz One+ for remote patient monitoring and to integrate the device into clinical study platforms to monitor respiratory rate in a convenient and clinically validated way. US physicians can prescribe Sleepiz One+ to their patients to measure their short-term and long-term vital signs, allowing them to better understand the physiological status of patients.
