New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….
The original story (published June 24, 2022) follows:
Even though Spotify continues to dominate the music streaming services niche with more than 31% of the total market share in 2021its closest rival, Apple Music continues to grow at an impressive rate.
That said, over the past few weeks users have been facing bugs and issues such as Windows app crashing on sign-in and while playing and Google Assistant not being able to play specific songs. .
This causes a lot of frustration as the bug prevents them from downloading music in their preferred audio quality.
Reinstalling the app doesn’t seem to help either. You can see in the image below what the options look like for those affected.
@SpotifyCares Hello, so my Spotify app has a problem. Choosing different download quality not showing after last update 😅
I deleted and re-downloaded my Spotify app last night, when I re-downloaded the app, I noticed that there was text missing in the audio quality “download” section and the video quality. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix or will this be fixed in an update?
It turns out that the developers of Spotify are aware of the missing download audio quality options issue on iOS and are working on a fix. But there is no timeline for when it will be available.
Hi, We are aware of an issue where download sound quality options are not present on iOS mobile devices. Our technical team is working on a fix right now. Leave your vote in this thread, if you encounter the same problem and post if you encounter it on Spotify version 8.7.42. We’ll keep you posted and all you need to do in the meantime is make sure you’re using the latest version of the app so you don’t miss the patch. Cheers!
We hope the developers find out the root cause of the problem soon as many are unable to download music in their preferred quality.
