Since the rise of work from home culture due to the ongoing pandemic, working effectively has become a much more difficult task. As a result, the productivity of many people who were more comfortable working in the office dropped. This is due to the various distractions that a person faces when working from home. So increasing productivity has become of the utmost importance, and well, that’s where Rize comes in.
Rize: a smart time tracker
Developed by a duo of young San Francisco-based developers Will Goto and Macgill Davis, Rize is essentially a smart time tracking app that helps you be more productive. It collects data about your digital activities across various web browsers and apps to provide you with crucial data and solutions to keep you focused more on your work.
Unlike existing time trackers which only categorize the time being tracked, Rize is a smarter tool that not only categorizes the data being tracked, but also encourages the user to take breaks, focus more on a specific job, and show which activities are the most entertaining. So a user will be able to get answers to questions such as which apps or websites distract the most, how often I change context, or do I take enough breaks or not.
The app comes with features to help develop healthy work habits over time by providing notifications to take enough breaks. So, using Rize for a period of time can improve your productivity and efficiency at work in several ways.
In terms of privacy, Rize CEO Will Goto says the data being tracked is hosted on Amazon Web Service (AWS) and is protected both physically and electronically. It is only accessible by users through their password protected accounts. Additionally, the app encrypts data at rest and in transit for added security.
Availability and subscription plans
Rize is currently only available for macOS users running macOS Mojave v10.14.6 or later. However, Goto says the team is working to bring the app to Windows and Linux platforms very soon.
So if you are using a macOS device, you can go to the official site and try Rize for free for 14 days. After the trial period, you can get a monthly subscription for $ 14.99 (~ Rs 1,095) per month, or an annual subscription for $ 9.99 / month (~ Rs 700).
